Neural Interface Project

updated: 4/20/2001

NOTICE:
This project is only to support developments in the other parts of the Borg project, it is in no way a substitute for the rest of the project as it only addresses one tiny aspect of the project.

GOAL!!!

The goal of this sub project is to develop a practical and affordable neural interface device that will facilitate new forms of communication that have only been speculated about until now. To meet this goal it will investigate neurology, engramatics (the study of thought/impressions), and user interface design.

Strategy

I have redefined the strategy of this project since the last update. This project is now targeted at the problem of communicating with the brain through thought engrams as opposed to existing peripheral channels.

Progress

First update in more than a year! =\
The project is re-orgainized. Unfortunately It must continue to take a back seat to my work in developing the Sphere Operating System.

After I finish the  theoretical papers I will begin drafting engineering requirements specifications which will specify more clearly the goals of this project and the exact technological and scientific needs of this project.

Project outline

The device will be a system of devices some of which are being developed in nonaffiliated brain research centers around the world. This project concerns itself with the "collector" device that can translate information from the sensors into a standardized cybernetic-engram protocol through a standardized

See my other project on this subject. a device that talks to sensors, reads and encodes engrams in a standardized communication format, and vice versa. plugs into the brain somehow, developed elsewhere with possible guidance from this project. no changes to this system in this sub project! =P
