This is an interesting question. Even if the penalty was life imprisonment
I would choose to undergo the process. This is because I could wait for
the government to collapse or for the government to accept the new
technology. You may also ask me the question," What if you knew that your
life would only bring physical and mental pain?" and I would still choose
to live for as long as I could endure the pain. This is because I prefer
negative perception over no perception at all, it is just a personal
preference, besides there is always a hope of things getting better.
Something else you should consider is that even if the technology for this is
reached I am sure suicide will always be an option.
