Very good. At least I have one vote for my beliefs being rational.
I will not deny that it is "empowering" in the sense that it gives
one a frame of reference, i.e., I'm not likely to follow after a Jim
Jones or other false teacher--my system of beliefs simply would not
allow it. It also gives me a coherence of the world system as it is
coming together. It will remain to be seen who is right and who is
wrong--as "objective reality" will prove it soon enough.
the "quite false" doesn't bother me either as it is "mere opinion"
and I certainly give each person his right in that regard. Chardin
