Let me define philosophy and see if you agree:
Philosophy: a system of thought containing the following 5 areas:
1) Metaphysics : The nature of existence. Is it objective? Is it subjective?
Something in-between?
2) Epistemology : How do we know what we know ? Sensory input? Intuition?
Faith? Is knowledge even possible?
3) Ethics: What is the good? Is there a good?
4) Politics: How should people live together?
5) Aesthetics: What is beauty? Is there such a thing as beauty?
If we are in agreement here as to what philosophy is then let me ask one
thing: Do you know anybody who has absolutely no opinion on any of those
subjects? If they have some kind of answer for each of these questions then
If you agree with the definition it follows that they do indeed have a
philosophy regardless of how bad or good they can answer those questions.
