I think that "separation" as used above is a form of "connection" between
object and subject (how does object and subject connect? As a separation.).
In its most objective sense, a separation--which stands unconnected from
object and subject--is reality in negation...like saying "nothing" is a
thing. But, I can think of practical applications for contrasting object
from subject as opposed to comparing them (how is something not like
something else); though, the conclusion--if real--will be stated in the form
of how is the object subjective (or how is that which is subjective
objectified).
