virus: Virus. Interspecies Memetic Transference.

The below is reposted with permission of the author. It is a field
report of a meme (berry picking) being passed from one species to
another. "Rita" is a dog.
Since it is well established that dogs learn from other dogs, there is
no reason to doubt that this meme could travel and spread indefinitely
within the canine population.

Rita loves blackberries right off the vine. One of the places we walk
(offlead places) is lined with blackberry brambles, and when they are in
season I pick & eat them as I go. Rita watched this for a time, very
intently. So, I gave her one.

After that she began picking her own.
(she also loves apples, cantaloupe, and tomatoes!)
