1. How long do you have 2 min? 5 min?
2. Who cops the cost of the presentation? How much do they want to
spend?
3. Is there a point you want to make? <Besides buy my book :-{)=>>
4. One format I could think of would be a documentary on infections
deconstructing Hyper-infected people. You could start off funny and then
go serious as a compare/contrast. E.G. Valley Girl vs. White Supremicist.
You deconstruct all the symptoms of infection in the valley girl/grunge
rocker/any familiar icon. You then reconstruct the same symptoms ... with
more pathological symptoms e.g. White Supremicist/LA Gangbanger/any scary
icon.
5. Another take might be some kind of Ken/Barbie doll animation thing
where you infect the doll with memes changing its "look" to match a story
line. This would be doable because Mattel always wants Barbie on the
cutting edge ... and Barbie collectors are obsessive about getting the best
for their doll.
6. A recent example of virulent memes that I noticed was in George of the
Jungle. George is delivered back to the jungle by UPS. Before taking off
to save ape he puts on a pair of NIKE Air Jordans. The music swells.
George gets a confident look on his face. He races off to the rescue and
the shoes disappear for the remainder of the movie. You could broadcast
examples of "Culture Jamming" explaining that the Jam seems more
attractive/funnier then the add because its true.
I just got a call from the producer of the Strange Universe TV show. They
want me to go on and talk about Church of Virus among other things, but
there's a catch. Since it's a TV show, they need something VISUAL to
broadcast that's more interesting than me sitting around talking.
Guys and Eva and Michelle, we could have a lot of fun with this. Any ideas
for something visually interesting we could manufacture to promote memetics
and CoV? We need to move FAST. Brainstorm!
