Not at all. As someone quoted recently, it is a mistake to think
that values can be rationally derived. But it is also a mistake
to think that makes values irrational (in the metaphysical sense,
not Reed's "forethought or lack thereof" sense). For instance, we
animals tend to value our survival and the survival of our family.
That is perfectly rational given our origins.
