Hmm.

Science is a practice, a process.
Science is also the body of knowledge and myth arising from this process
Scientists are just folks, and have just as much insight into the true
mysteries
of the universe as everyone else.

Conciousness is a hard thing to define. I think the more strictly defined parts
(like "what is the difference between being asleep and being awake? or being
brain alive and being brain dead...snide remarks anyone?") are in the process
of being investigated. Science has a hard time grasping the vaguer concepts
like "soul." But then, from a scientific perspective, that word might be
pointing to something which doesn't exist, like Maxwell's "aether".

By definition, there is always something that people don't know about
any subject. The question is: do you think the darkness hides
"more-of-the-same" or some shadow-cloaked world of demons, spirits,
dragons, and magic power?
