Exactly my point, but expressed far better (don't you hate it when
that happens?). Take for example herbal medicines. I'm sure a wealth
of data was lost in various witch-hunts and through the practice being
the subject of scientific ridicule down through the centuries. The logic
seems to have been 'you can't tell me why it works therefore it doesn't
work at all' so the art of herbal treatment was to a great extent lost.
Only comparatively recently has science realised that there was good
information there and now it chooses to revisit the subject.
