_Against Method_ by Paul Feyerabend.
Which I think is a good book, too.
If you like this theme, Kuhn's _The Structure of Scientific Revolutions_ is
also a great book. He really gets into the detail of what it is like to be a
physical scientist, and how communities of such scientists work. I work in an
organic cehemistry lab and I see daily things that constantly remind me of
Kuhn's work...which is anecdotal evidence, I guess, that his theories do
translate into reality.
