The "homonculus" is fund-a-mental. In other words, it pays attention. I'm not a Cartesian, if this is what you are implying. I subscribe to Dennett's theory of a "center of narrative gravity". You can chose to identify it, or not. I choose to, because it is true that it's possible to do so, and useful to do so from a number of perspectives. But, then, I'm kind of scatter-brained...so I don't always think that way. I like to keep my options open.
