That's perfect. Actually I'd prefer to hear your thoughts in a thought-out reflective way than rushed and reactive any day of the week. I'm sure I'll be here when you get back. :-)
As for the second part, as someone here (Joe? TheHermit?) said not long ago (or words to this effect):
"In this medium I have only your words to go on. I'm reacting to the impression your words give me, not to _you_. I haven't met you, I've only your words."
