I think I was more attempting to say that the truth (whatever the hell that is) is not a value statement, and that I didn't think skeptics used it that way- proof, however, does have various qualities, and skeptics demand a very high quality for their proof- but, then, so does science, and that is what makes it attractive as a discoverer of the universe we live in.
